Last night was one of the worst night I ever had,
I only slept at 6am in the morning.
I was down with fever, flu, headache and panic attack because of my exams.
I guess it’s the stress.
I realised I’m not the kind of person that can deal with stress effectively.
The whole time when i was lying awake, I thought of ways that I could die.
Not in the pessimistic and depressive way actually.
But I guess when you’re being eaten up by stress and the acute illness, it just gets into you.
NO matter how hard you try to imagine positive and nice scenarios, you’ll be swallowed by the negativity.

I really cannot wait for the examination to be over.

It’s all got to do with Singapore.
To be honest. I have no idea about our secondary nation-state at all.
All these years we have been fed with the myth that Singapore started in 1819, that we have no natural resources and there are four races in Singapore.
Well they are all only partially right.
This is just the tip of the ice berg for my Friday’s paper.
Does LKY’s story equates to Singapore story? NO!
We cannot base the history of Singapore on one’s person’s political story.

mind you it is only introduction, and I’m already struggling, I wonder what I should do when I go into the real social work world.
Who are the Key players in the SG social service sector?
Government, Voluntary Welfare sector, Religious organization, Self help group and Professional bodies.
OMG I just went and checked my notes, and I got it right!
But what ever that constitutes all these key players, are just tough to memorize.
Allow me to just ramble on with my nonsensical thoughts. I just find typing very therapeutic.
You know Social work is really NOT as easy as you might think it is.
Social Work is a job that really requires passion.
Social work holds by the values of
1. Humanitarian and Democratic Ideals
2. Respect the Equity, Worth and Dignity of individuals
3. Meeting Human Needs.
4. Developing Human potential
5. Human rights
6. Social justice
7. Alleviate Poverty
8. Liberate the vulnerable and oppressed
9. Promoting Social Inclusion.
We have to transform these values into principles of practice.
1. Acceptance
2. Individualism
3. Purposeful expression of feelings.
4.Objectivity
5.Accountability
6.Controlled emotional involvement
We have to make sure that we don’t over identify with out clients
(I seriously think I would totally suck at this principle)
7. Self determination
(We have to recognize the rights and needs of our client that they have the ability to make their own decision)
8. Access to resources
9. Confidentiality
